EMPASYS™ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  1. What is the EmpaSys™ Electronic Bill Payment and Pre-Paid Debit Card Loading Solution?

The EmpaSys™ solution is a web-based bill payment and pre-paid debit card loading program that allows payments to Billers or Providers to be made at an EmpaSys™ payment agent's location.

  2. How does the EmpaSys™ Solution work?

The EmpaSys™ payment location is a member of a national network of participating Merchants. These Merchant locations accept cash payments and pay those customer's bills saving the customer time and money as well as load that cash immediately onto a customer's pre-paid debit card. By being a member of the network, customer's bill payments taken at agent locations are delivered to the proper Biller safely and quickly!

  3. How much does the service cost?

Most payment agent locations will charge a nominal transaction fee for handling this bill payment or debit card load for customers.

  4. Which Billers can customers pay?

There are tens of thousands of billers that are participants in our network. The chances are great that the businesses that customers send their bill payments to are members of this network. Nevertheless, this system will pay ANY bill for ANY qualified Biller.

  5. How quickly will customer's payments arrive at the Biller's location?

In most cases utilizing the EmpaSys™ Electronic Payment process, the payment will arrive within two banking days. Immediate payments may be made is specific cases.

  6. What is the cut-off time for daily processing?

Daily processing occurs at 4:00pm CST. Transactions that are posted after that will be processed on the next business day. Any transactions that are posted after 4:00pm CST on Friday will be processed at 4:00pm CST on Monday.

  7. What if a Biller is not a participant in the network?

If the Biller a customer is wanting to pay is not a participant in the EmpaSys™ network, the payment will not arrive as fast as it would if they were participating. Instead of being sent as an electronic payment, a paper money order will be printed and sent to the Biller through the mail on the customer's behalf. If the payment is due immediately, and the Biller is not in our network, we will notify the biller that the payment has been received to prevent any action against the customer. EmpaSys™ will make every effort to ensure that the Biller receives the customer's payment as soon as possible.
